Niche structured products. Institutional discipline. Seven verticals where depth of expertise generates alpha.
Jade Mountain Partners is an SEC-registered investment adviser founded in 2016 by David Marinoff and Henry Wu, formerly Managing Directors at Apollo Capital Management.
The firm manages ~$1.3B across seven structured-product categories: litigation finance, life settlements, embedded value, Reg XXX, hybrid capital, catastrophe bonds and collateralized reinsurance.
Headquartered in New York. ELSA member.
Love of family and friends created the first insurance policies - workers in dangerous jobs pooled their money to provide for the families of friends who were lost. This was the heartfelt origin of the mutual assurance company.
Eventually, these schemes evolved into the complex capital pools and insurance companies we know today. Even though the sophistication of the modern insurance firm is a world of difference from the past, at its heart, these firms continue to protect the weakest among us, provide for our families, support our friends.
Our firm intends to create wealth, but not for its own sake. Instead, like workers founding the earliest insurance collectives, we do it to provide for our children and those of our clients.
We remember that real people are affected by our actions - and we behave accordingly.
Depth, not breadth. Narrow, complex markets where institutional-grade expertise is the competitive variable.
Seven structured-product categories, each led by a principal with decades of direct deal experience.
Risk frameworks from Apollo, Guggenheim and Morgan Stanley applied at boutique scale.
Deep counterparty relationships with reinsurers, carriers, law firms and originators.
Litigation finance + insurance-linked credit under one roof. Structurally rare.
Every transaction is purpose-built. Complexity is the source of returns, not an obstacle.
Capital pools that affect real people. Principal alignment throughout.
Non-recourse funding for commercial disputes. Returns uncorrelated to traditional markets.
Secondary-market life insurance portfolios. Actuarial analysis and longevity risk modeling.
Securitizing economic value within insurance balance sheets through structured transactions.
Reserve-relief capital for insurers subject to NAIC redundant reserve requirements.
Bespoke debt-equity instruments for insurance carriers and structured-finance counterparties.
Insurance-linked securities transferring catastrophe risk to capital markets investors.
Fully collateralized capacity delivering uncorrelated returns with disciplined tail-risk management.
